CEMCADC pays on the spot visit of fire accident

Kamalanagar, 05 June, 2021: Dg. Durjya Dhan Chakma, CEM, CADC accompanied by his colleague Dg. Lakhan Chakma, Executive Member, CADC i/c Relief & Rehabilitation, etc. visited the place of fire accident to assess the extent of damage caused. The accident took place last night at around 3 am in the bazar area of Kamalanagar town leaving two houses razed to the ground and causing partial damage to nearby buildings.


The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained which has originated from the house of Mrs. Snehadini Talukdar who runs a restaurant in the house. The fire raged so fast that the four tenants living in the house could not salvage anything.


The AJR Hardware shop owned by Dg. Anulal Tongchangya is the other casualty who have suffered a huge loss. It is estimated that hardware goods worth about Rs.70 lakhs was destroyed in the accident. 


The inferno left three two wheelers parked on the road side completely burnt. 


The CEM, CADC announced emergency relief of Rs.15,000 to each of the house owners, Rs.10,000 to each of the tenants and Rs.5,000 to each of the owners of the two wheelers out of CEM Relief Fund.
