The Hon'ble Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), Dg. Nirupam Chakma, today called on the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Lalduhoma, at his office in Aizawl, and discussed a range of development-related proposals as well as the financial constraints being faced by the Council.
Among the matters discussed was the development plan of the CADC, which had earlier been submitted to His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram. Seeking the State Government's support for its implementation, the Chief Executive Member requested that the plan be taken up for consideration. In response, the Chief Minister advised that separate concept notes and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) be prepared for each component and submitted through the proper channel.
The Chief Executive Member also sought fund provision under SASCI for completion of the new CADC Secretariat building, which was constructed under the 13th Finance Commission Award. The project has remained incomplete for the past 12 years owing to the lapse of the final instalment of funds. On the matter, the Chief Minister advised that a detailed estimate be prepared for the remaining work and submitted to the concerned department.
The Chief Executive Member further requested for fund provision for furnishing the students' hostel constructed in Aizawl so that it could be commissioned soon. He also requested for the inclusion of two school infrastructure projects and one fish pond development project in the State's priority list, as these proposals are already under consideration by the State Government.
