Chakma District MNF Youth Front President and 15 other CDMNF Unit Leaders quit party and join BJP

Kamalanagar, September 16: The Chakma District Mizo National Front (CDMNF) received  a major jolt as its Chakma District MNF Youth Front President Shri Molin Kumar Chakma and 15 other CDMNF Unit leaders resigned from the MNF party en masse and joined the BJP in the presence of Shri Nirupam Chakma, former Minister and National Council Member, BJP Mizoram Pradesh and Shri Alak Bikash Chakma, Ex-MLA and Core Committee Member, BJP Mizoram Pradesh at the BJP District Headquarters, Kamalanagar today. 

A short induction program was organized at the party office to welcome Mr. Chakma and other 15 CDMNF Unit leaders into the party fold. 

Mr. Molin Kumar Chakma was the former President of District School Education Board (DSEB) of CADC. He had contested the last CADC MDC General Elections on MNF ticket from 4-Bajeisora MDC constituency. He also worked at Radha Mohn High School as Assistant Teacher for one year during  2001-2002. Earlier, he was in the BJP and also held the District President post in BJP CADC during 2002-2004. He worked in the Central Young Chakma Association (CYCA) as Senior Vice-President from 2011 to 2016. He actively worked and led the Chakma District MNF Youth Front as President for 4 (four) years since 2018. 

The other 15 MNF Unit leaders who joined the BJP hail from various Village Councils such as Bajeisora, Baganpara, Ugudasury ‘N’ and Montola which fall under 4-Bajeisora MDC constituency.

While speaking at the joining program, Mr. Molin Kumar Chakma stated that when MNF was in the opposition in CADC for 10 (ten) long years they had mocked the Congress government for constantly changing the Chief Executive Member(CEM) in CADC and called the CADC Congress leaders corrupted. Now those former Congress leaders had joined the CDMNF and are ruling the Council. Due to constant  infighting and factionalism in the CDMNF, the people of CADC have already witnessed 5 (five) CEMs and there is no stability in the MNF government in the Council. He sees no future for the MNF party. 

Further, he stated that the Chakma Autonomous District Council will be a harbinger of doom if MNF continues to  rule the council for another term. The future of the CADC is in the hands of BJP and PM Modi ji and he made an appeal to the people of CADC to join the world's largest political party if the people of CADC want to see real development in the Chakma Autonomous District Council. He further stated that his joining into the BJP party is like  ‘Ghar Wapsi’, as he was a member of the party in the past, including serving as its district President at some point of time.
