PRESS RELEASE

BJP CADC expresses serious concerns on worsening road condition at Kamalanagar town in District Executive Meeting.

Kamalanagar, October 25: The District Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party of Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) was held today at Kamalanagar, the headquarters of CADC. In the meeting, the District Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party expressed its deep anguish and concern over the negligence of the Kamalanagar town roads by the MNF government in CADC. The announcement of sanctioning of Rs 3 crores by the CADC’s CEM for pavement of town roads at Longpuighat public meeting and Rs 10 crores for town roads in CADC was a big lie by the CADC MNF government. The road condition at Kamalanagar town has gone from bad to worse. The Executive Committee of CADC has neglected the town roads of Kamalanagar except for its hallow promises of black-topping of the town roads which never materialised into action. There is not even a single road where vehicles can play smoothly. All roads are full of potholes with fast deteriorating conditions. The present MNF MDCs do not bother about the problems being faced by the common public due to the worsening road condition since they are used to travelling by their expensive vehicles in relative comfort.

As part of its Political Resolution, the Bharatiya Janata Party of Chakma Autonomous District Council expressed serious concern about the continued maladministration and humongous corruption being committed by the previous and present Executive Committees of CADC led by Mizo National Front (MNF) Government in the Council. Recently, a complaint letter was submitted to the Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram by the MNF Member of District Council (MDC) Shri Amit Kumar Chakma which went viral in the Chakma social media groups in various platform through which it is learnt that the existing Executive Committee of CADC has made large-scale illegal appointments to Master Roll, Fixed Pay jobs and including the regularizations of services with backdating under various Departments of CADC. As per information received from reliable sources the present Executive Committee of CADC has recently made around 400 number of fresh appointments of such illegal jobs under various departments of CADC with backdating. It is also learnt that three-month salaries have already been disbursed and credited to the bank accounts of the newly appointed employees of CADC even though they have not done duties even for a single day. The interesting thing is that the appointment letters have also not yet been given and the newly appointed employees neither know their place of posting nor know in which department they were appointed. The appointment letters might have been kept in the CEM’s custody due to the fear of leakage of information of such illegal appointments into the public domain. Such large-scale irregularities have not only polluted the whole administration in the Council but also created fear and insecurity in the minds of the newly appointed employees.

Further, the District Executive strongly condemned the political instability characteristic of the present government in CADC. Due to political instability, this tenure has already witnessed 5 Chief Executive Members till date. There is always infighting amongst the MNF MDCs and its party leaders. The existing MNF MDCs have forgotten that they were voted to power to serve the public and not for fighting among themselves. Despite the so called double-engine government both in the Council and in the state, no public welfare and developmental activities are seen in CADC. The Mizo National Front (MNF) government has miserably failed to fulfil its poll promises and is now losing public faith day by day at the ground level across the Chakma Autonomous District Council and many MNF party workers have already left the party and started joining the BJP.

Under the prevailing situation of instability and maladministration of the present Government, the District Executive expressed its motivation and capability to provide a stable Government and deliver governance to meet the needs and expectation of the people. The District Executive of the Bharatya Janata Party views the upcoming 11th MDC General Elections in CADC as a unique opportunity for the people of CADC to elect a government that is purposive, believes in implementing people-oriented policies and is providing the council with able leadership and vision to take the council forward. The BJP is the only party which has the capacity to form such a government and deliver to fulfil the aspiration of the people of CADC.

The District Executive condemned the Mizoram government led by Zoramthanga for the failure and false promises on Socio-Economic Development Programme (SEDP). The MNF party made poll promise in the last Assembly Elections in 2018 to provide financial assistance to every household to the tune of Rs 3 lakh under Socio Economic Development Programme (SEDP). But unfortunately, Rs. 3 lakh amount has come down to Rs. 25,000/- only. This flagship programme of the MNF party is the two sides of the same coin of the previous Mizoram Intodelhna Project (MIP) which was completely failure in the state. The District Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party feels that the MNF government has somehow provided Rs. 25,000/- to some beneficiaries just to lure the innocent public in the upcoming polls in CADC in next year.

The resolution pertaining to economic issues were adopted in the meeting moved by Shri Ranbir Chakma, District `Secretary of BJP CADC where the District Executive meeting praised and congratulated PM Narendra Modi for bringing rapid progress and easing the lives of  the Poorest of the poor of India through the implementation of several welfare schemes as outlined below:

The pro-people announcement paves the way for allocating free-of-cost food grains (5 Kg per person per month) to nearly 80 crore beneficiaries covered under National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA) including those covered under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi:

Through this scheme, Rs, 6,000 is directly transferred to the bank account of farmers in three instalments of Rs 2,000/- per year. The union cabinet has approved the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) beyond March 2021 till March 2024 to achieve the total target of 2.95 crore rural houses. As on today 155.75 lakh houses are pending for completion.
