MLA & CEM Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma Submitted Rupees Five Crore Project under Article 275 (1) through DC, Lawngtlai

June 25, 2024: The 36-Tuichawng (ST) area MLA and Chakma ADC CEM, Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma submitted several project proposals amounting to Rs. 45,980,874/- under Article 275 (1) through the Deputy Commissioner of Lawngtlai District. These proposals include:

1. Dumping Ground to Crematorium Ground at Kamalanagar (Baganpara)

2. Construction of a Multi-Disciplinary Centre at Lawngtlai

3. Construction of an Approach Road to Longpuighat Primary Health Centre (PHC)

4. Construction of an RCC Pedestrian Bridge from BPS-I to BPS-III

5. Chakma Biju Festival in Mizoram 

Initially, the Hon'ble MLA and CEM Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma submitted the project proposals to the Deputy Commissioner of Lawngtlai, Shri Cheemala Siva Gopal Reddy at his office at Lawngtlai.

Following the submission at the district level, the Deputy Commissioner of Lawngtlai District forwarded the project proposals to the Directorate of Social Welfare and Tribal Affairs, Government of Mizoram.

Subsequently, Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, the Hon'ble MLA and CEM met the Director of Social Welfare and Tribal Affairs Government of Mizoram in Aizawl today.

During their meeting, the Hon'ble MLA and CEM and the Director discussed the submitted project proposals and agreed to prioritize them and forward them to the Centre in Delhi for granting sanction under Article 275 (1) of the Constitution of India. 

Additionally, the Hon'ble MLA & CEM  also discussed the concerned Ministry for the project submitted by the Art & Culture Department of CADC for the promotion of Chakma Bizu Festival in Mizoram.

The Director of the Social Welfare and Tribal Affairs Government of Mizoram assured him of all the project proposals submitted to be sent to Delhi on priority basis.
